West Bay is easily reached by road, see map. It lies between the old Roman town of Dorchester (and the new experimental town of Poundbury) to the east. It can be approached directly along the coast road with stunning views of the Fleet and Portland from Weymouth or from the well known town of Lyme Registo the west.
There is ample accommodation here and this small resort is supported by Bridport, famous for its rope making.
The picturesque resorts and beaches of Lyme Regis, Seatownand Beer are within easy reach.

West Bay, facing the great sweep of Lyme Bay, was built as the harbour for Bridport, two miles inland. It has now become a seaside resort at the mouth of the River Brit and the great mass of East Cliff dominates the beach, these cliffs are a valuable part of the famous Jurassic Coast.
